So today is rest day! Good timing too! Last night was my 21st bday so I did not stick to my diet haha. I can’t say this enough. But I LOOOOVVVEE this program so much. I am sticking with this 110% with my heart and soul. Only 2 weeks in and I am definately noticing energy levels getting higher each day, I’m seeing my waist slim down, and I’m getting more definition ALL over my body! Stay tuned for tomorrow. I will be taking my day 15 measurements as well as pictures!

Today I want to go over mindset. We have all heard the term “Mind over Body”, but honestly, how many of us can say we have actually put that to the test? I can now say that I do each and every day! I’m going to be honest, I was not in good enough shape to do Insanity. It would have been best if I stuck with a program like 10 minute trainer or P90X till I lost the weight. But I had determination. The mind truely is a wonderful thing when put to the test.

Going through these workouts with insanity, you hit a point in the workout where you just want to collapse and quit. Just like that. And it seems so tempting and easy to do at the time. But that is when you truely start to use “Mind over Body”. I have hit some major hurdles with this program because of the intensity. There are several moves that are difficult for me to get through. But it is at these points that I really dig deeper and jump those hurdles!

This doesn’t just go for Insanity. This goes for any workout that you do. We are so used to working out at a moderate intensity over a longer duration of time. So when the intensity is raised, it is a natural instinct to stop. This is when you really have to dig deeper than you are used to or even comfortable with. The body is a very complex system. It is designed to constantly change and adapt to its’ surroundings. If we keep doing the same workout for the same amount of time everyday, how does your body change or adapt to that? This is where “Mind over Body” comes into play.

You tell yourself you can push through and do it, and guess what, you CAN! At the time, your body will be very tired, uncomfortable, and hurting. But if you keep pushing your body to the limits by keeping that thought process strong and positive, your body WILL change, it WILL adapt. This will cause your body to become stronger, leaner, healthier, and faster.

So just keep all of this in mind next time you are preparing to do a workout. Take a few minutes to gain the motivation and mindset that it takes to break your usual barriers. Make the change. Make the body adapt. Dig Deeper…
